Sophia Bennett Holmes is a writer, director and cinematographer from Brooklyn, New York. She studied fine art at Cooper Union (2016) and is now an MFA candidate at New York University (2024), making narrative films. She finds inspiration reading online forums where people wonder whether or not they're normal.

Her short films have been selected for festivals such as Capital City Film Festival (2024), Woodstock Film Festival (2023), Nitehawk Shorts Festival (2022, 2016), and Prague International Indie Festival (2022). Her work has been featured on NoBudge, Pitchfork, Stereogum and more. She has made music videos for artists including Washed Out and Frankie Cosmos and she won the Nestor Almendros Award for Cinematography for her work on The Dalles, which debuted at Sundance 2023 in the Shorts program. She is currently a semifinalist in the BlueCat Screenplay Competition for a feature script she is developing.
